Have you ever considered raiding the baby care aisle for beauty care booty? It’s typically a fraction of the price and also generally formulated for the most sensitive skin – win, win. A great place to start is with a natural baby oil. You’ll be surprised at how versatile it is! Here are 10 totally awesome ways to use natural baby oil in your beauty routine!
Moisturize the Skin You’re In.
If a natural baby oil is great for baby’s skin, it has to be great for yours, too, right! Apply the oil after bathing (and after a light toweling off) while your skin is still slightly damp to lock in moisture. Alternatively, you can apply oil prior to bathing to hydrate and protect your skin’s moisture barrier.
Enjoy a Superior Shaving Routine.
Squeeze about 1 tablespoon of baby oil into your palm and smooth it over your leg. Rub a thin layer of oil onto all areas that will be shaved. Before shaving, wipe or wash the oil off of your hands so that shaver don’t slip! People say shaving with natural baby oil results in a smoother, closer shave and softer skin, and it prolongs the life of your razor. What? Sign us up.
Bathe in it, Baby.
Not literally. Don’t fill your tub with it. Add 1-2 tablespoons to your bath (more if that’s how you like it) for an extra moisturizing soak. Just be sure to clean out the tub afterward. Maybe not immediately since you’ll be feeling so chill, but before anyone uses it again since it could be slippery from the oil.
Lux Out Your Lotion.
Boost the skin-loving benefits of your lotion by adding a touch of natural baby oil. You’ll need to play around with the ratio to find what works best for you, so start with a drop and move up from there.
Care for Them Cuticles.
Say so long to dry, cracking cuticles! Massage a little natural baby oil into your cuticles to soften them up and moisturize dry skin. It'll also make it easier to gently remove or push them in.
Love Those Lips.
Make an awesome exfoliating lip scrub by mixing 1 teaspoon of natural baby oil, ½ teaspoon of sugar, and a few drops of lemon juice. Every night before bed, rub it lightly on your lips to remove dead skin and moisturize while you snooze.
Scrub-a-Dub.
Who needs expensive body scrubs when you can easily make one yourself! Mix either Epsom salts, brown sugar, or coffee grounds with about an equal amount of natural baby oil (give or take depending on how you like it), et voilà - you have an artisanal scrub that’ll leave your skin baby soft and smooth.
Fight Frizz.
This couldn’t be any easier (and, again, so much cheaper!) Apply a tiny amount of natural baby oil to your hands or finger tips and use on your hair to smooth dry, parched ends and reduce frizz. Word to the wise – in this case, less is more (you don’t want to end up with greasy strands!)
Get Glossy.
Instead of investing in every lip gloss in the land, consider this clever natural baby oil beauty hack. Dab a small amount of oil over a satin or matte finish lipstick to magically transform it into a stunning, saturated gloss.
Give Your Feet a Fancy Treat.
Okay, it’s not really fancy, but it will give you the same results! Slather (more is more in this case) natural baby oil onto your feet right before bed, then put on a pair of socks. While you sweetly slumber, the oil will slowly soften and moisturize tough calluses and dry skin.Ready to try these tips out?
